Tired is an Understatement:

The happiest people are the saddest people sometimes. We learn to fake our smiles and laughs. We learn to take the day head on when in reality, we had to force ourselves out of the bed. We are SO tired during the day. But, at night, we spend the entire night up. No sleep. Then, we repeat it. Our favorite thing to hear is, "You need sleep." All you can reply is, "I know." Because they don't understand you spend your nights tossing and turning trying so hard to sleep. They don't understand you take 10 grams of melatonin at 11 just to only fall asleep between 6-8AM. Your body is so restless, yet so drained at the same time. Mental illness takes the worst tole on your body that you cannot explain in words. You cannot explain why you can't sleep. You cannot explain why a good day turned to a bad day in the snap of a finger. You cannot explain why the bad day went from a bad day to a bad week. You have no explanations for anything because you cannot explain it to yourself. So, when we say "we are tired," really we mean, our minds are tired. We try to push through, but sometimes, we just can't. We smile, say our day is fine, to keep from explaining why it isn't. We are tired emotionally and physically. Our bodies are drained. We find the best way to survive the day. When our tears come, it's normally when we are alone.. but sometimes, they come in public. And when they do, wipe them, give us a hug, and tell us it will be okay. Even when we think nothing is going right, a simple gesture can help us move forward. Sometimes we have to have a breakdown to see the other side.

We are so tired. Not from lack of sleep (even though that plays a role), but from pretending to be okay when we aren't. It drains us. We stay busy to keep the thoughts limited. But, it drains us even more. Our minds are restless, all while, our bodies are exhausted.
